Education for Ukrainian children

Refugees from the Ukraine between 5 and 17 years old are entitled to education. Students from the Ukraine don’t speak Dutch and the Dutch education system is new for them. They left their familiair environment and have just arrived in the Netherlands. That is why language schools provide education to refugees in both  primary and secondary school. Children and young people start in newcomers classes at special language schools. Due to the current situation in the Ukraine we expect a large number of refugees in the coming period.

The Kamperfoelieschool in Huizen is the language school in the region Huizen, Blaricum, Laren and Eemnes*. They have special expertise and Ukrainian teachers available. At the moment it is not possible to register toddlers. You can apporoach a regular primary school for toddlers.

Are you working on a school in the above mentioned towns and looking for a place for an Ukrainian student? Then you can go to the Kamperfoelieschool (Jan van Galen residence) in Huizen (not when you want to register a toddler!). Please fill in this form and when there is an opening at the Kamperfoelieschool we will contact you for a more extensive intake. We then will decide if the Kamperfoelie is the right place for education for this student. We do this together with Unita. When there are special educational needs, with exception of NT2 and vulnerability due to the situation in the Ukraine, Unita will determine what a suitable space is for the student.

When there is no room (yet) at the Kamperfoelieschool we will let you know as soon as possible. For the time being the student will start at your school, in a regular class. The student will remain on the waiting list and as soon there is a place available, the intake for the Kamperfoelieschool will take place.

Private person and looking for a school for an Ukrainian student?

Are you a private person and looking for a school for an Ukrainian student? Please register at a regular school first. The will become the tribal school. Then fill in this form and te student and their mentor will be invited for an intake. The student will get a year language study at the Kamperfoelieschool and will then be transferred to the tribal school.

The student needs to be living in the BHEL area (Blaricum, Huizen, Eemnes, Laren). Schools nearby the place of residence will provide education for as long as the student is on the waiting list at the Kamperfoelieschool. In that case you can register at a school nearby.

We will contact you as soon as possible after we received your filled in application form. We will then discuss the situation and next steps with you.
